Internet access is the fuel for our digital economy and technology innovation, but for far too many people, it remains a luxury: expensive and out of reach. Millions of Americans lack access to high speed home broadband and many more lack access to the digital skills and devices needed to benefit from the opportunities afforded by digital access.

When we launched our digital equity program Starry Connect five years ago (!!!), it was with little fanfare and a lot of ambition. What started as a pilot with Boston Housing Authority is now available in more than 87,000 units of public and affordable housing in six states.

To celebrate, we have released our first Impact Report featuring Starry Connect’s contributions to closing the digital divide since 2018. It is also an acknowledgement of how much additional work remains to fully bridge the digital divide in our most vulnerable communities. Read the full report here.

We’re excited to continue to tackle this challenge so that #InternetForAll becomes a reality. Scroll for a few highlights of our Connect program over the last 5 years!

Starry celebrates launching service with the New York City Housing Authority, one of nine Starry Connect public housing partners across the U.S.
Starry Connect’s core mission is to help our communities increase broadband adoption, but we also provide access to free devices and digital literacy training.
We teamed up with Microsoft to renovate a community computer lab for residents of the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles.
Our partners like Human-I-T help us provide affordable device programs and digital literacy programs to Connect subscribers.
We don't want our impact to stop at digital access so we host food, book and clothing drives (and more!) in our Connect communities.
